If you’re not travelling, the year-end beckons frequent visits to shopping malls across the city simply to get those last-minute presents for gift exchanges or to grab the best deals many brands have to offer. So we’ve compiled for you six new fashion store openings that will totally elevate your shopping experience — from beautifully curated spaces like Gucci in The Gardens Mall and Louis Vuitton in Suria KLCC to intimate Insta-worthy chambers like Feith London in Fahrenheit88 and Christian Louboutin flagship store in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
Christian Louboutin has finally set its heels in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, its 164th boutique. The 92sqm store dedicated to both men and women is inspired by its first boutique in the Galerie Véro Dodatin Paris — reimagined as a small island with five facets facade punctuated with arches and red scales for great visual impact. While generous mirrors bring depth and spatial quality into the boutique, one can expect an intimate grandeur with its chamber-esque design that’s accentuated with signature niches of fine mouldings and alcoves wrapped in rust and velvet, as well as matching suede for its shelves. Louis Vuitton continues to bring its spirit of travel and savoir-faire into its latest store in Suria KLCC. The relocation takes on a new design language with a blend of elegant lines, contemporary forms and a mix of traditional and noble materials. Like its boutique in The Gardens Mall, the exterior is clad in perforated screen accentuating the historical leitmotifs of Louis Vuitton — featuring the sensual Diamond pattern with the modern Damier motifs. Walk into the store and experience a ‘rain of flowers’ inspired by Louis Vuitton’s leather flowers from the Petit Nomads collection on one side, and Malaysia’s national flower, the hibiscus on the other. Here, customers will be able to enjoy both the Men’s and Women’s universes in cosy rooms as the brand redefines its shopping experience surrounded by works of art and artisanal craftsmanship.
After opening its first flagship store in KLCC in December 2019, Lululemon unveils its largest store in Southeast Asia with the launch of its second Malaysian boutique located in Pavilion KL. The Canadian athletic label, known for its technical athletic apparels including yoga attires and sportswear is charting a new course for the local community through its long-time vision to elevate the world by unleashing the potential within every one of us based on three signature pillars: sweat, grow and connect. Rooted in the brand’s ethos on the principles of yoga, the new store in Pavilion KL is designed using chic local wood fixtures and wall finishing dressed in floral and fauna of Malaysia’s tropical topography.
As the doors shut for Off-White Starhill boutique, the brand now opens its flagship boutique in Suria KLCC with a brand new concept and space. The aesthetics is inspired by an Italian apartment characterised by natural and warm materials like leccese stone, wood ceiling beams and gray travertine flooring. The opening comes with an exclusive release of its capsule collection titled ‘Yours Truly’, a playful range that emphasises on the brand’s quality-meets-luxury ethos. Customers will enjoy a slew of apparels and merchandise for both men and women here, all displayed in a stylish fashion within the 138.3sqm space.
The mother-daughter powerhouse in the fashion business has launched their own brand, Feith London, to the city. Founder Soo Shea Pin – who brought in the brand Anya Hindmarch to Malaysia in 2003 – and daughter Teh Wenfei unveiled the shoe boutique in Fahrenheit88 in true elegance of feminine beauty. The multi-brand store, decked in blooming petals and dusty pastels, is home to beautifully patented European-made shoes. These handpicked brands include Jonak from Paris, S.Novio from London and more. Feith also collaborates with local fashion designers with a special showcase on its shopfront every month — the opening repertoire features the works of legendary local designer, Khoon Hooi.
Gucci is taking on a new direction in its store design, and the latest to get a facelift is its boutique in The Gardens Mall. The 4,362sqft store houses both men’s and women’s pieces from bags to luggage, accessories to shoes and even eyewear, watches and jewellery. The interiors are designed with comfort and a sense of welcome in mind. Soft elements like velvet armchairs and vintage dark wood display furniture offset the harder elements like the rivets. In keeping to the elegance and contemporary eclecticism — the very heart and soul of Gucci — the store sees a flight of traditional and modern, industrial and romantic elements throughout its store. There’s plenty to look at, so walk from one space to another and be enticed, surprised and engaged in the world of Gucci here.
