Streetwear collaborations are nothing new these days, pitting the pinnacle of two contrastingly brands together to create something unique and different. In one corner, we have Timberland, known for its leather outdoor wear and particularly its boots. In the other corner, we have Mastermind Japan, famous for its avant-garde approach towards streetwear. For the second time, the Timberland x Mastermind Japan Fall/Winter 2019 capsule collection will be available soon, featuring a variety of products.

Mastermind Japan’s dark aesthetic is one of the key features of the collection alongside Timberland’s vintage design and craftsmanship. The capsule collection has a total of seven items, which include the WEATHERBREAKER waterproof jacket, the SHERPA fleece jacket, and of course, the Field Boots.
The star of the capsule collection would, of course, be the Field Boots, something Timberland is well-known for. The updated design to it features a dark brown and jet black leather upper that also carries the Mastermind Japan skull-and-bones logo adorned all over. The upper also has the TimberDry waterproof membrane atop an anti-fatigue insole.

Retro outdoor items are also up for grabs with Timberland digging into its archives like the WEATHERBREAKER jacket and waterproof bottoms. It now has an updated high-contrast black and white palette, a reflective logo, metallic details, and the use of modern DRYVENTTM waterproof technology.

While this doesn’t sound like Mastermind Japan had much to do in terms of design, rest assured that it isn’t the case. The entire collection will feature reflective detailing throughout as well as the Mastermind Japan logo embroidery. The Timberland x Mastermind Japan limited-edition capsule collection will be coming out at the Isetan The Japan Store in KL on 9 November 2019.
If you’re planning to cop, do take note that the entire collection will be available in an extremely limited quantity.
