Trend to try: Bucket hats for your bad hair days

Floral dresses and denim have always been associated with summer. It’s an inevitable trend. Dresses, bottoms, tops and even accessories that are made out of lighter material, with lively prints and colours, are also staples for the season. Now we’ve come to another category of fashion items you should try this season — and it’s bucket hats.

You may have already owned one of these before back in the 90s. If you still have one crumpled up in your closet, great — this would save you the time and money to look for one. However, we wouldn’t say the one you got a decade ago would look the same as the latest ones that have paraded down the runway. Bucket hats have been a recurring hat trend from the past few seasons, but the fact that we’re still seeing it now on runways and celebrities means it’s high time that you should own one as well.

We didn't say bucket hats are only for the ladies.

So what is it about bucket hats that got fashion brands like Prada and Dior to release versions of their own? Perhaps it’s how easy to transition from athleisure to casual wear. Or how that floppy-looking silhouette can be easily paired with any outfit.

Here are our current favourites.
