The Burberry runway show will also be available to watch via Instagram and its website.
No stranger to live streaming its runway shows to people around the world, Burberry became the first luxury brand to do so in 2010. Now, the London-based brand is set to mark another first by becoming the first luxury brand to partner with Twitch to live stream its Spring/Summer 2021 fashion show.
For the uninitiated, Twitch is a live video streaming service established in 2011. Burberry will be utilising the platform’s Squad Stream function, which means that viewers will be able to see multiple perspectives of the show at the same time and converse with each other through Twitch’s chat function.
Set in the British outdoors, the show will be completely remote with no attending guests. That said, we do hope to see the Burberry face mask make its rounds on the runway alongside the new collection.
The Burberry Spring/Summer 2021 show will be live-streamed on Thursday 17 September at 1pm BST (8pm Malaysia time) on the brand’s Twitch account. The show will also be live-streamed from the brand’s Instagram and website.
