Hollywood has always been all about the glitz and glam, so it’s no surprise to see multiple artists, producers, designers, use this iconic landmark as their source of inspiration. The precinct is known to be the place for lavish extravagant lifestyles of the rich and famous — a scene that Gucci has taken as the main reference for their very own cinematic video campaign, #GucciSylvie.
And like any other cinematography, there will be the main star which happens to be the House’s signature handbag — the Sylvie. Cruising down the driveway, along palm-lined avenues, private pools and gated villas with a sun-drenched backdrop, the scene is perfect for Gucci Sylvie. The video also features 77-year-old multi-award-winning actress Faye Dunaway and French singer, songwriter and actress SoKo who both played the perfect Hollywood mother and daughter.
The duo brings the viewers through what people believe to be the luxurious Hollywood lifestyle — being chauffeured around in a fancy limo, shopping on Rodeo Drive, signing autographs, lounging by the pool, and play tennis in their private courtyard. This is seen through the eyes of SoKo, who plays the daughter and sidekick to her ‘mother’, Dunaway. And let’s not forget the ever-present Sylvie bag.
At the end of the clip is an endearing moment. The mother presents her daughter a Sylvie handbag of her own, as a symbolic gift, to treasure across generations. Be one of the first to watch the heart-warming video campaign here.
