The Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto is limited to only 50 piece worldwide.
Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot is celebrating the grand opening of its new flagship boutique on Chuo-dori Street in Ginza, Tokyo with an ultra-sleek timepiece in full black. It is a collaboration with renowned Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto, giving birth to the limited-edition Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto.
The timepiece marries both the fashion designer’s signature black design codes with the complicated GMT manufacture movement from Hublot. Together, the watch expresses beauty in simplicity. Having created “the Shock of Black”, which shattered preconceptions of traditional tailoring, Yamamoto infuses a tone on tone application on its dial that can be appreciated at six o’clock.
Born of duality, the watch displays two time zones through its GMT feature. At the heart of the timepiece, the Hublot Unico manufacture movement HUB1521 is fashioned with a patented proprietary module that enables the second time zone to be updated instantly by a push-button. This allows the local time to be read easily via the conventional main hand of the watch. The other time — back home or wherever desired — is indicated through a second arrow-shaped hour hand that integrates a day/night indicator and is set using the crown.
With its All Black collection, Hublot launched the exact pioneering concept called the ‘invisible visibility’ back in 2006. The all-black design of this new watch is testament to a philosophy symbolising the very essence of the Swiss watchmaking brand. The build is completely pitch-black with a black case made of micro-blasted black ceramic, black hands, a black dial and a black rubber strap. Even the sapphire crystal is made of smoked sapphire.
The limited-edition Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto is only available exclusively at the Hublot Boutique in Ginza, Tokyo.
