There’s a certain prestige in owning a one-of-a-kind watch, but what if it also comes hand-delivered by the manufacturer’s CEO, followed by a trip to the Italian Alps for a thrilling drive on ice in a Lamborghini of your choice?
Sounds like every guy’s ultimate fantasy, but if you have S$475,400 to spare, Roger Dubuis and Mr. Porter will make this wild dream come true. The watch in question is the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Pirelli Ice Zero 2, which is now available for pre-order on the UK-based shopping site, though not for long.
The double flying tourbillon from the Geneva-based watchmaker is based on the signature Excalibur range, and perfectly embodies the driving experience that comes with the package. The skeletonised model might have been launched earlier this year (in a limited edition of eight) to celebrate Pirelli’s new Ice Zero 2 tyres, but this one-off deviates slightly with its more aggressive black DLC titanium Excalibur Spider case instead of the usual gunmetal silver tone. Still, the rubber strap’s unique design retains the same distinctive grip pattern as its tyres, incorporating the same pins that provide unfailing traction on icy surfaces.
Inside, the watch ticks courtesy of the calibre RD105SQ movement, a masterful work of horological art that sports the prestigious Poinçon de Genève seal, a testimony of the watch’s mechanical excellence.
The substantial 47mm watch will come with a 52-hour power reserve and a two-year warranty, all of which, as promised, will be delivered by Roger Dubuis CEO Nicola Andreatta himself. You and your latest wrist candy will then be whisked away to premium accommodation in the heart of the Italian Alps, where Lamborghini’s entire fleet await for your ‘Winter Accademia’ on-ice driving course. There really isn’t a better gift to be found under the tree this year.
