Alila Hotels & Resorts will launch five new properties this year — with one in Kuala Lumpur

Luxury boutique hotel group Alila Hotels and Resorts will be expanding its portfolio this year with five new properties, three of which will mark the brand’s entry into new destinations — namely Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Cambodia.

First to launch will be Alila Bangsar, a modern urban retreat in Kuala Lumpur, occupying the top floors of a mixed-use development known as The Establishment. Set to open in May 2018, the property will offer 143 modern and elegantly designed rooms elevated above the hustle and bustle of Bangsar, one of the capital’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan districts.

Alila Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur is set to open in May 2018.

The hotel will be home to two restaurants (Botanica + Co and Entier Restaurant) and three bars conceptualised by Proof & Company, an award-winning collective of Asia’s most respected bartenders renowned for creations that have become fixtures on the World’s 50 Best Bars List.

The opening of Alila Bangsar will be followed by Alila SCBD in Jakarta in July, Alila Wuzhen in September, Alila Koggala (Sri Lanka) in October, and Alila Villas Koh Russey (Cambodia) in November.

Alila Villas Koh Russey, the first Alila-branded property in Cambodia.

The latter, Alila’s first property in Cambodia, is set to be a five-star private island eco-resort located at the Koh Rong archipelago. Located a 15-minute boat ride from the Cambodian coast, the resort will feature 63 suites and villas complemented by a myriad of in-house facilities which include a beachfront Spa Alila, Sunset Bar on the Western Cape, Beachside Grill and the Ridge Restaurant.

The five new properties set to launch this year will join Alila’s existing collection, which includes properties in Indonesia, the Middle East, India, China and the United States.
