Mandarin Oriental has recently announced its first venture into Muscat, capital of Oman. The hotel group will be managing a resort and branded residence in the capital, slated to be ready by 2021.
The new Mandarin Oriental, Muscat will feature a total of 150 guestrooms and suites. Within the property as well, will be five restaurants and bars. Guests looking to pamper themselves also needn’t look too far, as the resort will feature a Spa at Mandarin Oriental and an outdoor swimming pool. There will also be a variety of banqueting and meeting spaces to accommodate social and business events.
And if you’re looking for something a little more permanent, the property will also play host to 155 Residences at Mandarin Oriental, which will feature some of the most exquisite private apartments in the capital ranging from 75 to 260 square metres.
The property will be developed by Eagle Hills, a private real estate investment and development company. This project will also mark the developer’s first entry into the Omani market. They are currently developing projects around the Middle Eastern region in countries like Bahrain, Oman, the U.A.E., and Jordan, as well as Morocco and Serbia.
While Oman’s neighbours like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are known for its glitz and glamour, this particular side of the Emirates is calmer and boasts more natural landscapes like the Hajar Mountains and Al Qurum beach. Guests at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat looking to experience a tranquil side to the Arabian culture will enjoy the sea breeze here. There’s even a chance to spot dolphins when you book a boat tour around the Gulf of Oman.
The Mandarin Oriental Muscat will certainly add on to the clean and elegant architecture that most resorts here boast. Only time — three more years, to be exact — will tell how the resort will shape the hotel landscape of Muscat.
