Hangzhou had a significant evolution from marshland to farmland, and now an urban jungle. The latest Canopy by Hilton Hangzhou Jinsha Lake pays tribute to that.
Opened recently, the property overlooks the largest man-made park in Hangzhou, China. The 212-room hotel was designed by Wilson Associates’ New York Studio and pays homage to the natural elements and culture of its location.
The hotel incorporates Chinese garden elements like lush green walls and a wood-slat pitched ceiling above the lounge area that’s reminiscent of traditional Chinese farmhouse architecture. Wilson Associates also included other traditional Chinese design elements, showcasing its ability to modernise the traditional design.
The hotel has 196 guest rooms and six suites, all designed with a contemporary take on traditional Chinese design. Rooms come with a canopy bed that draws inspiration from ancient wood screen panels, while the colour palette of the interior reflects the shores of the Qiantang River: soft cream and warm sand. Locally-curated art pieces adorn the rooms and public spaces of the hotel. Meanwhile, the suites boast views of Jinsha Lake while being ensconced in an ultra-luxurious setting.
Other than these amazing room, the Canopy by Hilton Hangzhou Jinsha Lake hotel also comes with other facilities including conference rooms, a lobby bar, pre-function area, game room, and a fitness centre. Flip through the gallery above to see for yourself how the hotel looks like.
