Arriving at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park is a grand experience especially with a communal space that plays host to two separate lift lobbies, a bar and lounge, a large concierge and three specialty restaurants. The interiors glisten with glimmers of gold and bronze, with designer pieces dotting the expansive lounge area. When evening comes, the space comes to live with live performances and serenades — taking you from your favourite jazz bar to a ‘night with Michael Buble’.

The grand lobby is decked in gold and bronze, with sprinkles of violet to accentuate a Thai language.

But what’s great about the hotel is its location. Being connected to the 11.6 acres Benchasiri Park allows access to the outdoors while providing you a quick route to the swanky Emporium and EmQuartier shopping malls as well as Phrom Phong BTS station (it’s only a ten-minute walk). From the train station, you can head towards Siam for more shopping and sightseeing, or southwards Kheha-bound for the many hipster cafes and speakeasy bars around Thonglo and Udomsuk.

      Inclusive Facilities

There are a total of 1,388 rooms spread across two towers — North and South. The guests rooms and suites bear a modern contemporary flair with strong Thai sensibilities thanks to its therapeutic natural hues and traditional intricate leitmotifs that adorn the walls.

The rooms also provide unparalleled views to the park, the beautifully manicured garden and pool on the ninth floor or the vibrant Bangkok city — depending on which room you’re checked into. Not only is the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park perfect for business travellers, it is also a great hotel to stay in if you’re looking to switch off from the hustle and bustle of the city. Make your way to the pool that’s equipped with sunbeds and even a well-stocked bar to complete the perfect afternoon — sipping cocktails while getting some tan.

If you’re the kind of traveller who must sweat it out, you’ll love the 24-hour fitness centre here. It is spacious, and well-equipped with state-of-art equipment, weight machines and other facilities like sauna and steam rooms. Pamper yourself further at Quan Spa for a marathon of treatments that combines relaxation and traditional Thai rituals.

      Gastronomic Affair

There’s nothing short when it comes to food and drinks at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. Start your day feasting like a king at the Goji Kitchen + Bar that will leave you spoilt for choice. The all-day dining restaurant gives the impression of several marketplaces combined with an array of live cooking stations serving everything from gourmet sandwiches, make-your-own salads and healthy smoothie bar, to a more sumptuous spread of local Thai staples, popular Western dishes and other Asian delicacies.

If you’re up for an authentic Thai-style tea experience, enjoy your morning caffeine fix or teatime at Siam Tea Room sipping specialty tea alongside delectable morsels infused with local herbs.

For lunch, you have a choice between the Soba Factory or the Pagoda Chinese Restaurant. The former pleasures you with house-made buckwheat soba that honour traditional noodle-making techniques. Served hot or cold, you can enjoy these authentic soba noodles in many styles — whether accompanied by broths or meats. Try the classic tempura soba that’s served with lightly battered prawns and vegetables. The Soba Factory also serves its signature yakitori in a traditional izakaya setting.

The Pagoda Chinese Restaurant on the other hand is where you should head to for something more upscale. Serving authentic Cantonese cooking, you can enjoy everything from dim sum, pork buns, sticky barbecued pork and spring rolls alongside a selection of premium Chinese teas.

When it comes to dinner, head up to acclaimed Akira Back Restaurant and Bar, not only for its signature fresh tuna pizza, but also a sweeping vista of the skyline at night. Carrying the same ethos as its Michelin-starred restaurant in Seoul, its Bangkok’s outpost is as impressive — championing a menu that’s distinctive to Akira Back’s east-meets-west philosophy. Enjoy a slew of classic dishes including the AB tacos, baked crab hand rolls and 48-hours wagyu short rib accompanied by the finest sake — including Akira Back’s own branded spirit that is a clean, crisp sake produced by the famous century-old Nanbu Bijin brewery in southern Japan’s Iwate Prefecture.

End the night on a high note at ABar with your favourite Old Fashioned or Negroni — the bar specialises in dark spirits including whiskies, dark rum and cognac. If you prefer somewhere more open, head up to ABar Rooftop for a different atmospheric experience. Up here, you’ll find one of the largest selection of gins in the Thai capital. Tipple on your favourite G&Ts as you gaze out over the illuminated Bangkok cityscape at one of Bangkok’s  latest and most popular rooftop bars.

The ABar Rooftop is stocked with one of the largest gin collections in Bangkok city.
