It’s never too late to have a travelling wish-list in mind, especially when you’re dreaming of a little getaway. Once it’s safe to travel abroad again, you should know that Hyatt Regency launched its first hotel on January 6th, in the Cambodian Capital.
Located in the heart of Phnom Penh’s district of Doun Penh, the Hyatt Regency has 247 rooms (including 43 suites) and is a 30-minute drive from the airport. It’s also within walking distance to all the best tourist attractions.
As you reach the driveway, you’re greeted with a 20th-century Colonial House decorated with dreamy wooden shutters, arched doorways, and terracotta-tiled roof. Make your way inside to the contemporary-meets-colonial interior; reflecting the country’s history of the Khmer’s architectural accents, French colonial influences and artworks by local contemporary artist, FONKi.
While it might take a while to get there ourselves, scrolling through the gallery does justice to what you can look forward to. With an elegant and modern feel, you’ll be spending your days to welcoming room decor with hardwood floors and marble bathrooms – feeling cosy with the warm interior in browns, white and orange to relax in.
Apart from its beautiful decor, you can treat yourself to a memorable dining experience located in the hotel. There is the Market Cafe Restaurant & Lounge where you can enjoy your breakfast buffets and afternoon tea inside a light-filled atrium. Order a drink or two at the Metropole Underground, an early 20th-century metro-themed bar with live music and local beers. You might also want to taste the handcrafted cocktails and grand cru wine at The Attic.
Be sure to check out the 14th floor to admire the breathtaking rooftop view of the city skyline. Meanwhile, the open-plan dining FiveFive Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is full of life with the deliciously curated menu, live DJ performances and refreshing cocktails.
