You can never have too many fragrances.

Despite it being invisible, how you smell is an essential part of your own style, and can make or break an impression. A citrusy scent could also affect your mood different to how a musky fragrance does. But before you drive to the department store to grab any random cologne that smells good, you should get familiar with the different standards of fragrances.

Pure perfumes have the highest concentration of fragrance oils. It is followed by eau de parfums, eau de toilettes, then eau de colognes in descending order of lastingness. Personally, we’re all for eau de parfums. They last well throughout the day, and many esteemed perfumers specialise in that category of fragrance.

To get you sorted for the coming year, here are 5 new fragrances from eau de parfums to colognes that are available right now. Surely one or two would make for a good addition to your grooming repertoire.

Fragrance enthusiasts would find the scent familiar, for it was once part of the Tom Ford Private Blend collection.
