L’Occitane’s new Pierre Hermé collection is the stuff of dessert dreams

Looking for a new way to treat yourself that smells good enough to eat? Pierre Hermé, the ‘Picasso of Pastry’ himself, has been enlisted by his dear friend and L’Occitane founder Olivier Baussan to create a limited collection of three scents for the bodycare brand, now available for sale during the month of January.

They’re not quite Ispahan — Pierre Hermé’s signature macaron flavour that blends the sweet tartness of raspberry with the sultry air of rose. Evoking the sunny Mediterranean, particularly Corisca, a favourite summertime getaway for both these savants, the three brand new scents include Jasmine, Immortelle and Neroli; Pamplemousse Rhubarbe; and Miel Mandarine — available in a full range of hand and body products.

Jasmine, immortelle and neroli are considered ‘three soul mates’ that unexpectedly create a deeply rich and satisfying scent of florals. Corsican immortelle, or curry plant, jasmine and neroli essence are complemented by petitgrain, pink pepper and lemon, while a warm base of amber, white wood and musk unifies the scent together. This scent is available in eau de toilette, shower gel, body lotion and hand cream formats, so if you wanted to be enveloped and layered head to toe in the scent, you most definitely can.

Similarly available for the full product range is Pampemousse Rhubarbe, a refreshing ode to Corsica. Leading with a punchy dose of grapefruit, it’s a delicious and unusual combination with clove, rhubarb and nutmeg, with base notes of cedar and vetiver to tame the bracing fresh spiciness of the leading flavours.

Finally, Miel Mandarine is only available as a hand cream — a gorgeous fruity effervescent scent of mandarin orange with caramelised honey, spun sugar and almond, which leaves just a subtle trace of the holiday season behind us. Whether you keep it in your handbag, desk or bedside table, it’s sure to be a soothing scent to perk up the spirits throughout the day.
