Let’s rehash a familiar scenario: you purchase or get a sample of a new foundation that beauty bloggers have been raving like rabid hyenas about. It’s a new day, and you apply it, thinking it’s going to be The One, and all seems well. Halfway through the day, you chance a sneak at the mirror, only to find that the combination of demonic tropical weather and your skin type has turned your visage into a drywall cask. The horror.

The struggle is obviously real with finding the perfect foundation. It has to fend off the assault of the weather, marry well with and correct your complexion, maintain medium to full coverage, while keeping with the dewy, foundation trend. Guerlain’s latest Lingerie De Peau Natural Perfection Foundation line presents itself as the new answer.

It borrows fabric technology to create a seamless, second skin effect upon application. Natural silk and linen fibres are knitted with stretch fibres to form a micro-mesh, and colour-correcting pigments to guise any discolouration or hyper-pigmentation issues. The Lingerie De Peau’s unique technology imparts a ‘my skin but better’ look to your face, and lasts throughout the day with minimal creasing. Currently, the range has multitude of different shades, with cool, warm and neutral undertones, though only eight hues will be available in Asia. Here’s hoping Guerlain brings over their wares for deeper skin tones in due time, as the current range is limited to only fairer skin.

The foundation will be available 1 September at all Guerlain boutiques.
