LSA x Larry Yeo video: How to apply foundation for Asians with olive skin

Olive skin is characterised as a glowy, warm complexion with either a neutral, yellow or slightly greenish hue. It is quite a complicated skin tone to find the right foundation for, because when you pick the wrong shade, the skin can end up looking grey. Also, most of the e-literature on makeup for olive skin is catered mainly to a Western audience, not an Asian one.

Our second instalment for our Lifestyle Asia SG x Larry Yeo collaboration focuses on tips to match and apply foundation for three different Asian skin tones. In this video, we explore how to work with olive skin. Local makeup artist Larry Yeo works with a model, Shalini, to best compose a flawless base with an array of products to suit her skin tone.

Shalini has normal to dry skin, with some mild inconsistencies in terms of pigmentation. Watch the video above to see how he balances her skin tone with easy colour correcting tips that don’t involve pastel coloured concealers. The result is a rich, consistent olive hue to her skin that looks fresh and natural.
