You know the drill: New month, new products your beauty arsenal absolutely must have.
April, in particular has proved to be a popular month for beauty launches. Skincare might’ve been a priority over the past few months as people focused on wellness and/or struggled to keep their skin in check, but with society’s gradual reopening comes the demand for new makeup products — fast.
This month’s bumper crop of makeup must-haves are all about bold eye looks, so expect an eyeshadow palette that’s inspired by the Wild West, and an eyeliner that’ll oblige even the slickest of cat-eyes. If you’re more of a lip person, though, there’s a nude lipstick that’ll plump up your puckers (in a good way), and a fresh crop of limited edition lipsticks from Hermès that celebrates the vibrancy of the season.
Skincare junkies needn’t pout though; there are just as many new products for every skin type that’ll elevate your regimen.
Here are the new beauty products that we love in April.
Inspired by the Wild West in the US — the kind you see in the best cowboy movies — this 12-shade palette scores high on the versatility scale with its intriguing mix of sand dune-esque bronzes, succulent greens, and midnight blue hues in matte, satin, metallic, and shimmery finishes. Besides being able to channel the carefree insouciance of California’s deserts — think Joshua tree and endless skies — you’ll be pleased to know that the eyeshadows’ formula, although vegan, still blends seamlessly on the skin, and can be used solo or layered to create a multitude of looks.
Formulated with sensitive skin in mind, this new range harnesses the skin-calming and antioxidant properties of clary sage to soothe and increase the skin’s tolerance, especially when exposed to environmental aggressors such as heat, wind, and pollution. The three products — the Soothing Emulsion, Restoring Treatment Oil, and Redness Corrective Gel — are comforting for even the most irritated of skin, and carry a light scent that’s also immensely relaxing during application.
Available for purchase at all Clarins boutiques, counters, and e-store.
If there’s one thing we look forward to as a new season approaches, it’s Hermès’ update on its limited-edition lipsticks. The new trio of satin-finished rouges capture the energy and escapism that summer brings. Beige Ebloui, for example, is a warm sandy shade that’s set to be your next favourite nude. Meanwhile, Rose Oasis is full of vibrance as a fiery rose, while Corail Aqua encapsulates the bright luminescence of an intense vermilion. All three lipsticks deliver a satin finish, and come packaged in exquisite refillable cases.
Available at Hermès boutiques and Hermes.com.
