If you haven’t heard, millennial pink is a colour now. You see it everywhere, and everyone’s all in for it. Think the craze over the rose gold iPhone, or, the collective swooning over the fictional Grand Budapest Hotel’s facade, which many argue is millennial pink in its nascent form. This light, rosy but not fully pastel pink is the colour of the moment. With the Burberry Blush collection, you can paint yourself in the hue, and look all the better for it.
It began with the Blush fragrance, but the makeup line comes as a complement. The brand has decided to keep it simple with a collection of bare necessities, spanning a luminous primer, a blush, an eye palette, a cream eyeshadow, lip products, a mascara and a nail polish — it’s all you need to ace another massive trend, the no-makeup-makeup-look.
At the heart of the Burberry Blush collection is the blush palette, a limited edition offering that’s a beauty to behold. Arriving in Burberry’s signature silver-and-black packaging, you flip open the lid to reveal a blush embossed with flowers, so pretty you almost don’t want to dip your brush in. Apply it, and the soft, finely milled powder glides on to deliver a radiant dose of pink to the cheeks.
The blush may seem light with one swatch, but it layers easily to build the intensity. This makes it suitable for all skin types without compromising on the au naturel effect it gives.
Another favourite is the Complete Eye Palette in Rose Pink. It’s a quad, with two pink and two nude shades to construct a delicate eye look for everyday wear. Top it off with the creamy Liquid Lip Velvet in Dark Rosewood, and you’re good to go.
Can we say, “I want it all?”
The Burberry Blush collection will be available at Sephora ION from 17 August, and at Tangs Plaza from 31 August.
