There are some beauty brands that spark this feverish need to throw your credit card in their direction simply because the products are too beautiful to resist. Paul & Joe Beaute is exactly that. As the sibling to the Paul & Joe clothing brand, the cosmetics label is renowned for its kitten-head lip balm, which launched in 2017 but still sends makeup lovers into a tizzy.
Paul & Joe Beaute had a brief stint in Singapore, but since their departure, the brand can only be found in our regional neighbours such as Hong Kong and Japan. That is, until they’ve announced their return at a pop-up store, which will run from now till end September 2019 at Isetan Scotts.
Paul & Joe will share its pop-up with two other beauty labels Albion and Les Merveilleuses Ladurée. This collaboration run by Istean attempts to spotlight cosmetic and skincare brands that are especially popular in Japan.
Paul & Joe will bring its adorable feline-topped lip balm back, alongside its core range of eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushes and powders. Each of these come packaged in compacts or cubes decorated with whimsical animals. Still, if you think cute is all Paul & Joe aims for, then you’re wrong.
Anchoring the pop-up is their star product, the Foundation Primer, which sold one million bottles in 2018. This multi-award-winning primer is a favourite of Japanese women, because of its lightweight texture and how it preps and corrects the skin without compromising how natural one looks. There are three types of the Foundation Primer available — a clear base to give your skin a subtle glow, a pink base to brighten and an orange base to colour correct. Finish with foundation and you’re good to go. When it comes to looking porcelain, we’d definitely bank on the Japanese for know-how, and if this product is the secret, we’re bagging ten.
Don’t lag behind on your chance to nab Paul & Joe Beaute again.
