Step into Byredo’s first outpost in Singapore and you’ll get an idea of why it’s come to be known as a brand well versed in unforgettable experiences.
Easily recognisable by a grey monolithic concrete facade, the new store — located in Ngee Ann City Shopping Centre — stands out with its signature brand of Swedish sensibilities without losing even a smidgen of edginess.
As with all things Byredo, the beauty is in the details and the store’s minimalist, modern futuristic design is a masterclass in that. Bright orange shelves and counters punctuate the store’s metal shelves and metal-framed mirrors, lending a pop of colour to the otherwise industrial-chic space.
As much as we’re stoked about being able to pick up another bottle of Mojave Ghost and Gypsy Water whenever we want — not to mention the brand’s leather goods and accessories — we’re most thrilled about finally being able to add its newly launched beauty line to our vanity tables. Designed in collaboration with British makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench — whose work has spanned editorials and runway shows around the world — the fresh makeup drop is yet another way in which Byredo has expanded its identity with.
And we’re not complaining. Comprised of lipsticks, multi-purpose colour sticks, three eyeshadows, a mascara, and an eyeliner, the collection’s sole purpose is to inspire people to wear cosmetics without any rules. Every product has been sculpturally designed to encourage this creativity — from the the curvilinear lipstick to the oyster shell-esque eyeshadow compact — so you can experience the same evocative connection that you’ve come to expect of your favourite Byredo fragrances.
