The past few weeks have been trying, to say the least, and it’s completely normal to think about all the missed out trips and vacations you were planning for.

Since the government announced the new circuit breaker measures last Friday, even small joys like staycations will be unavailable, at least until 4 May. Social distancing has become the norm, and we’re all encouraged to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. This has taken a hit on the food and beverage industry for sure, but the hospitality industry isn’t doing that great either.

Hospitality isn’t only about filling beds or chairs in the restaurants, but also about a connection with guests — wherever they may be. As such, hotels have been looking towards digital initiatives to send some inspiration and love to their guests all around the world, even in the comfort of their own home.

During this unusual period of global uncertainty and disruption, a little Aman spirit goes a long way. Keeping yourself healthy and safe has never been more relevant, and Aman has come up with several digital initiatives for anyone who’s at home to stay calm in these anxiety-inducing times.

On Instagram as well as their website, Aman will continue to share wisdom from their wellness practitioners. These include breathing techniques to help relax the body, natural healing blends to create spa-worthy baths at home and other daily self-care rituals.

Conservation and safari operator Singita will continue to share stories of the vast African wilderness during these times as a way to escape and fuel your need to stay connected to the outside world. While you may not be able to go on a safari game drive anytime soon, you can certainly enjoy one virtually with Singita.

One of the most well-known and respected wildlife photographers and safari guides, Ross Couper, will be taking you on a game drive while teaching you about the African wilderness and its magnificent inhabitants.

They have also just launched their own SoundCloud account, featuring the calming sounds of Singita and Africa’s enchanting bird song.

Since you can’t go on a staycation anytime soon, Capella is bringing local travelling right to your doorstep with their arm-chair travel initiatives. The Capella Singapore team will be launching a virtual heritage tour of the property led by one of their Capella culturists, which will cover an interesting history lesson of the area.

It will include Singapore’s colonial past and the history behind Capella Singapore’s majestic heritage bungalows built in the 1880s for the British officers of the Royal Artillery and the 900 commissioned art pieces that are displayed throughout the resort, among others.

As part of their initiative to bring digital travel to guests around the world, Belmond is launching ‘Belmond Invitations’ — a virtual theatre of programmes designed to bring entertaining experiences into people’s homes whilst the world of travel is on pause.

The performances are curated using Belmond’s wellbeing philosophy of Good Living: experiences that are designed to enrich the mind, body and soul. These will be hosted on the Belmond’s Instagram page and will be constantly updated.

Other than that, friends of Belmond can partake in Belmond’s digital care package, lovingly curated by their team of Experience Makers. The care package features meditation by wellness experts, home spa therapies as well as recipes to cook with, all made to soothe the senses as everyone adjusts to a time of unprecedented stillness.

W Brisbane’s FUEL ambassador, Luke Zocchi, previously came up with two intense work-out programs for guests to access in their room or suite, making it extra relevant in these quarantine times where going to the gym is out of the question. Did we mention he is also Chris Hemsworth’s personal trainer? This pandemic is going to get you coming out stronger and healthier for sure.
