The New York fashion label has teamed up with Def Jam SEA for its very first virtual musical showcase in Southeast Asia, not too long after its Winter 2021 presentation in Shanghai. Taking place on 24 June, the concert will feature some of the coolest hip-hop acts from across the region, while offering a modern yet nostalgic approach to ’80s-inspired music.
With thirteen artists hailing from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia set to take the on-screen stage, there’s plenty to look forward to. Some of the headliners you won’t want to miss are Malaysian rapper Joe Flizzo; Los Angeles-raised, Jakarta-based rapper Ben Utomo; as well as English-Tamil rapper Yung Raja, who recently became the first Singaporean to nab a coveted spot on NME’s 100 emerging artists list.
Indeed, a common thread across the acts on the line-up is that they’re up-and-coming names. Coach has always championed young talents of the next generation, being one of the few fashion brands to tap on teenage TikTok stars for its campaigns. The upcoming virtual concert also ties in with the brand’s connection with music. Not only are Jennifer Lopez, Megan Thee Stallion and K-Pop star HyunA all Coach ambassadors, but the brand has even gotten American rockstar Debbie Harry to perform at one of its fashion shows.
It goes without saying that the Coach x Def Jam SEA virtual concert is worth tuning into. And you can get a ticket along with any Coach purchase you make until 17 June, be it at a Coach store or through the brand’s online shopping service. After you’ve placed your order, you’ll be sent a link and password to access the virtual concert.
Coach has also provided plenty of other reasons to shop. On top of its rainbow Pride Month offerings, the fashion brand has just dropped its Pre-Fall 2021 collection, which includes a line of retro sportswear pieces, denim and knitwear. There’s also the launch of the Coach Originals Quilties bags, which are made from quilted nappa leather. You’ll get to see them all worn by your favourite musicians at the concert, too.
Alternatively, you can also register at the official concert website for a chance to win a ticket. Find out how and discover the full line-up here.
