Contrary to (un)popular belief, Singapore is anything but boring. There’s a plethora of activities to partake in every week. Take the ongoing i Light Marina Bay for example. 22 sustainable and innovative light installations line the perimeter of our most iconic bay. Time to break out those low-light cameras on your smartphones and get posting on Instagram.

Those who are unable to jet off to Japan to watch the cherry blossoms bloom can do so at Gardens by the Bay. The Flower Dome has been beautifully redecorated for their annual Sakura floral display. Add on some traditional rickshaws, teahouses, and torii gates, and it’ll be like you were in the Land of the Rising Sun.

This weekend also marks the coda of Singapore Design Week and SingaPlural 2018 at the National Design Centre. Of course, the events of the week are not just limited to a singular building. There’s the Bras Basah.Bugis Art Sprawl held along various venues on Queen Street, the District Design Dialogue happening at Holland Village, and the Market of Artists and Designers at the Red Dot Design Museum.

If you decide to hit up all those events, you should be pretty occupied until Monday rolls around. But should you choose to lounge by the pool at home, here are this week’s best stories for your reading pleasure.
