For the first time since its inauguration in 2006, the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards was held in sunny Singapore. Participants and guests from all corners of the globe were there to witness the selection of six female entrepreneurs from each region (Latin America, North America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East & North Africa, and Asia-Pacific) for the much coveted award.

The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards, supported by both INSEAD and McKinsey & Company, aim to provide more visibility to women entrepreneurs. The prize includes US$100,000 (up from US$20,000 in comparison to previous years) as well as invaluable opportunities to make the right industry contacts, and close mentorship.

This year, over 1900 applications were received from over 120 nations. Cyrille Vigneron, CEO of Cartier International, was in attendance, alongside Ilian Mihov, Dean of INSEAD. UK television presenter, comedian and social activist Sandi Toksvig hosted the evening, which included a panel discussion with two prominent entrepreneurs, Privahini Bradoo of BlueOak, and Rosaline Chow Koo of CXA, alongside Vigneron and Mihov.

Former Singapore NMP, actress, and producer of the digital series WomenTalk, Eunice Olsen was also present to give an introductory speech.
