Marques de Casa Concha celebrated forty years of fine Chilean vintages with a vivacious masquerade ball held at an elegant black and white house, which was also the Former Spanish Ambassador’s residence.
In attendance was the label’s winemaker, Marcelo Papa, who introduced Marques de Casa Concha’s illustrious history as well as their well received varietals. Some of the winemaker’s more recent adventures included developing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Limari Valley, an area located 400km north of Santiago, which has had a unique impact on the soil at the vineyard.
Their tenacity has led to a consistent 90+ point rating with Wine Spectator and James Suckling, especially the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Check out the video below for a feel of the evening, which included blind tastings and food pairings.
