Chase down: The best martini bars in Singapore

Martini bars in Singapore are hard to come by. The classic cocktail isn’t the easiest to get right, despite the relatively simple construction of one part dry vermouth to six parts gin.

In a recent article, we spoke to bartenders from Atlas, Morton’s and Martini Bar to figure out exactly what makes a good martini, and whether it’s best shaken or stirred. Armed with that knowledge, it’s time to actually drink it.

Despite the bars on this list not being dedicated martini bars, they mix one up damn well. Some incorporate their own twists, while others proffer fantastic happy hour deals to get your drink on.

Here are our favourite martini bars in Singapore.

No. 5 Emerald Hill Cocktail Bar

This heritage bar along Emerald Hill is famed for its one-for-one martini deals, and it’s a stone’s throw away from town. The bar’s always packed, so try and head down early so you can imbibe in some of its classic martinis, chow down on prawn paste chicken wings, and have handfuls of peanuts. This bar is named after the martini’s offbeat cousin, the gibson, a martini with pickled onion as a garnish. It serves that, and a mean dry martini made with rare release Beefeater Crown Jewel gin. Here’s the place to be if you’re adventurous.
