Shortly after the opening of its brand new state-of-the-art distillery within the sprawling hills of the Speyside, Edrington Singapore has revealed the first of its kind downtown boutique in partnership with 1855 The Bottle Shop.
The 500 square-feet boutique at the newly-completed Marina One isn’t as grandiose as the Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners-designed facility back in Scotland, but it manages to translate the same compelling narrative and promise. The visual journey within the 500-square-feet boutique begins from the store front, where the storied Macallan M Decanter sits elegantly on a pedestal. The ceiling is rendered in a wooden latticed structure inspired by the distillery’s unique timber roof, and within, you’ll find a curated exhibition of exquisite whiskies that even money can’t buy you.
This includes The Masters of Photography series — an archival set of collaborative whisky expressions between the brand and revered photographers like Annie Leibovitz and Mario Testino. A spiffy bar awaits those looking to savour a tipple or two, where a guided flight tasting of The Macallan whiskies will be conducted by a Boutique Associate.
Fans of The Macallan will also get to see the the prestigious 1824 Masters Series collection — which includes the Rare Cask, Reflexion, No. 6 and M — in the flesh. If you, like us, can’t decide on which limited edition releases to take home (it’s the only place in Singapore where you’ll be able to purchase The Macallan Edition No. 3, Classic Cut, and The Macallan 50 Years Old), an interactive screen will guide you through based on tasting notes and serving style.
The exclusivity continues with an extensive range of lesser-found expressions and merchandise for the biggest single malt lovers, otherwise only available online in Europe and the United Kingdom. Besides cufflinks, branded glassware, and Roja Dove scented candles, The Macallan Boutique will also offer the highly sought-after ice ball makers.
