If you’ve been hitting the gym religiously these past few days in hopes of burning off all those pineapple tarts and bak kwa, you are not alone. We’ve been doing the same, and have even put together some tips to help you with that post-Chinese New Year detox.

For those who’re still very much in the festive mood, however, we’ve also got you covered with our list of new restaurants to visit this month — so you know exactly where to go for a decadent meal this weekend. Adding on to that, we’ve compiled this guide to three of the best dishes to try this week. It even includes a nutritious double-boiled soup, so you don’t feel too guilty about indulging.

Nothing hits the spot better than a delicious bowl of double-boiled soup.

The dish: Silky smooth and delicious, Cassia’s double-boiled chicken soup will have you licking up every last drop. It’s filled with a delectable combination of fish maw, sweet scallops and mushroom, and feels like a complete meal in itself. The soup is available as an à la carte option, and is also part of Cassia’s ongoing Spring lunch menu for CNY until 2 March.

The place: Located at Capella Singapore, Cassia is an elegant Chinese restaurant focusing on refined Cantonese cuisine. Its signature dishes include Peking duck and double-boiled soups. During the weekends, it offers Asian and Western-style afternoon tea sets.

Price: S$33 à la carte; the Spring lunch menu is S$88++ per person.

Charcoal-grilled slipper lobster by The Summerhouse

This looks almost too pretty to eat.

The dish: Sourced from local kelong Seafood Culture, the lobster is sous vide before being grilled in an Inka oven and slathered with a toasted hazelnut butter. It is torched at the table to imbue it with a smokey flavour, and accompanied with a pesto of broccoli, basil and breadcrumbs. The sweet and succulent lobster is then studded with crunchy hazelnuts for a finishing touch.

The place: The Summerhouse is a romantic restaurant set in a colonial house surrounded by the lush greenery of Seletar Aerospace Park. It recently added three climate-controlled domes (see main image) to its premises as a new dining concept for guests who desire to dine in private in its garden. These have to be reserved in advance, and are decorated in three different themes: Bohemian, Scandinavian and Lounge.

Everything you need for a classic English Sunday roast.

The dish: Tender, well-marbled slices of ribeye beef are paired with a crispy Yorkshire pudding, roasted potatoes, assorted vegetables, and a tasty mixture of cauliflower with cheese. Hearty and comforting, this Sunday roast will fill you up for the rest of the day. It is part of the restaurant’s new Sunday Brunch By The Bay menu.

The place: Operated by The Privé Group, Bayswater Kitchen is a seafood-centric restaurant situated at Keppel Bay. It’s a breezy venue with an alfresco dining area that overlooks the marina, making it ideal for long, lazy lunches (or brunches).
