Many of us want to believe that we can pull off preparing a full-on Christmas dinner for a party of 10, and still come out of it fresh as if no effort is needed. The reality: we are not Betty Drapers, and probably have schedules too demanding to accommodate three days of sweating it out over the stove and oven. Festive dinners are an endeavour that will sap most of your mental and physical faculties, especially if you’re doing all the legwork.

Don’t put yourself through that (unless you’re genuinely capable, then go forth, you legend). Christmas takeaways exist for a reason.

A number of hotels and restaurants around town have prepared a stunning list of Christmas takeaways you can order in lieu of the big day. No need to cook or carve — just click away, make a phone call and you’re good to go. They’ve got every Christmas classic dish available, and not just the savoury bites. If you’re in need of a log or fruit cake, even festive hampers, there’s a restaurant out there willing to make one for you.

In the interest of helping you get ready for the dinners looming ahead, here are some of the best places around Singapore to score scrumptious Christmas takeaways to wow your guests.

SPRMRKT's festive takeaways

SPRMRKT has readied a number of savoury and sweet dishes for Christmas takeaway — ideal for a dinner ranging from eight to 10 people. Most of the dishes are based on the eatery’s popular picks, including their behemoth slab of slow-roasted, pasture-fed Australian rib-eye beef, served on a bed of vegetables, with a choice of black pepper or bérnaise sauce. The roast beef is priced at S$150+ for 2kg, and orders must be placed three working days in advance, by 22nd December, 5pm.

SPRMRKT is located at 2 McCallum Street, Singapore 069043, +65 6221 2105.

Perfectly prepared and still juicy after brining for 24 hours, the chicken is herbaceous and citrusy with a hint of smoke from spit roasting. It is priced at S$38+, or S$68 with a bottle of wine, available from 4 December 2017 to 1 January 2018 with advance orders of three working days.
