Attention gourmands: GastroMonth is the culinary fest you’ve been waiting for

Singapore’s dining scene is set to get that much more exciting as GastroMonth — a month-long culinary fete that brings together exclusive restaurant menus, wine events and a glitzy gala dinner — kicks off from 30 October and runs till 26 November.

Bon vivants with a penchant for dining at Michelin-starred restaurants will be in for a treat as big names like three-starred Joël Robuchon, omakase stalwart Shoukouwa as well as Cheek by Jowl, Saint Pierre and The Kitchen at Bacchanalia will be participating. These will be spaced out within four themed weeks named Terroir, Robust, Mineral and Mature.

Expect dining deals to start from S$48 for a three-course lunch at Senso Ristorante Bar, all the way up to S$248 for a three-course dinner at Joël Robuchon. Other menus worth considering include a five-course lunch at one-Michelin-starred Beni at S$78 and dinner at Bacchanalia at S$70 for three courses.


But what’s good food without a round of good wine? Vino connoisseurs can look forward to Matter of Taste — a walkabout event to be held at Grand Hyatt Singapore where over 200 iconic wines rated 90 points and above by influential wine guide Robert Parker Wine Advocate will be showcased. Wine makers will be there to field your questions, but those who are truly keen on taking their expertise to the next level can attend the wine talks conducted by industry insiders.

If that’s not enough, the festivities will end with a bang as seven local and international chefs will grace our shores for a gala dinner at Shangri-la Hotel to announce the inaugural GastroMonth Circle of Excellence Awards.


Chefs Liu Guo Zhu of Macau’s Golden Flower and Vicky Cheng from Hong Kong’s Vea restaurant will be showcasing their dishes for the first time here, alongside Singapore names like Sun Kim and Rishi Naleendra.

Awards-wise, the categories will see outstanding individuals ranging from restaurant managers to bartenders and sommeliers — even a street food hawker — receiving awards for raising the bar for Singapore’s food scene.
