It is a truth universally acknowledged that Singaporeans love cafés. Hunting down new cafés to park ourselves at for weekend brunch has become a quasi-religion for most citizens. Even when abroad, we must make a pilgrimage to some of our destination’s best native cafés, if not for the coffee and food, then definitely for the ‘gram. Food and beverage event organisers, Savour, are well aware of this collective obsession, so they have decided to bring the world’s most renowned cafés to our city for one weekend in the form of Café Culture Singapore.
Café Culture brands itself as an international café experience, a veritable global café map you can lose yourself to in one space. Held at Marina Bay Sands’ Sands Expo and Convention Centre from 29 August to 1 September, the event’s page promises patrons an exploration of brews, brunch, bakes and cakes from Asia, Europe and Australia’s finest coffee spots.
For bites, you can expect the likes of Melbourne’s cult Lune Croissanterie, which acolytes have dubbed the best croissants in the world, Bali’s Sisterfields, arriving with their picture-perfect and moreish pancakes in tow, and sweet treats from Sydney’s Koi Dessert Bar.
Diehard devotees of coffees and teas will be pleased to know that they’ll have plenty of roasts and blends to choose from, sourced from the likes of Copenhagen’s Coffee Collectif to Tokyo’s Switch Coffee. Beyond just eating and drinking, Café Culture promises live demonstrations from vendors, though not much detail has been revealed about the last activity just yet.
Early bird tickets are currently on sale at a discounted price, ranging from one day to four day passes. Click here for purchase and more information.
