Ask for the best cupcakes in town and chances are, Plain Vanilla will be mentioned. The humble shop has been serving fresh, quality baked goods since 2013 from their Tiong Bahru flagship store, and their menu includes other savoury deli and breakfast treats as well. Besides their cupcakes, Plain Vanilla’s cakes are a delightful addition to any family’s dessert rotation, as each slice is soft, spongy and full of flavour.

Antoinette’s French desserts are the go-to for many Singaporeans, and we’re thankful that they will continue operations during the extended circuit breaker. Apart from savoury meals like their pasta and meat dishes, their whole cakes will be available for delivery too. If you’re heading to the website now, don’t fret if you can’t see the cake options just yet. They will be opening their cake menu on 29 April. There is a minimum order of S$55, and island-wide delivery is available for a charge of S$8.
If you’re hankering for a good ol’ durian treat, there’s no place better than Goodwood Park Hotel. The five-star establishment has always been touted as one of the best spots in town for excellent durian treats and their annual Durian Fiesta, which is happening now till 26 July. During this period, orders with a minimum spend S$140 can enjoy free delivery to one location. Traditionalists can order the D24 Mousse Cake, a popular mainstay on the menu, but those who are looking for something different should try the new D24 Summer Dream.
Nesuto Patissiere combines French pastry techniques with quality ingredients from Japan, creating pastries that are not only beautiful to look at but taste delicious too. Their signature cakes include Le Omm, a harmonious blend of matcha mascarpone and azuki red beans set between a light matcha sponge, and Le Gomma, a nutty black sesame cake that leaves customers coming back for more. Patisserie Cle was founded by Joy and Germaine, patissiers who have worked in Michelin restaurants like the now-defunct Joël Robuchon Singapore and Les Amis. Their cakes are deliciously made, but for a mouthwatering treat, head to their selection of tarts. The Orh Blanc Tart infuses the techniques of a mont blanc and the flavours of the local orh nee (yam paste) dessert for refreshing bites that leave us coming back for more. We know, Basque Kitchen by Aitor isn’t a confectionery shop, but we couldn’t help slipping this option in. Apart from their array of delectable dishes, round up the meal with a slice (or two!) of their beautiful Basque cheesecake. It features a beautifully caramelised top that borders on burnt and a sweet, creamy, custardy centre that makes it the perfect end to a great meal. Delivery is free for orders above S$100.
