Last month’s slew of merrymaking (read: National Day) might have signalled the last of long weekends for the time being, but that doesn’t mean we’re spending our days in despair.
The months of September and October are seeing some splendid new events for our local gastronomic scene. In case you’re susceptible to social anxiety that is FOMO, we’ve got you covered. Read on for our list of mouthwatering dining events to look forward to.

Can you belive it has been 10 years since Marina Bay Sands opened its doors to the public? The integrated resort is unveiling 10 Years of Mixology, a cocktail series to commemorate its 10th year anniversary, featuring a showcase of concoctions from over 10 celebrity chefs and signature restaurants in the establishment.
Each cocktail aims to reveal a chapter of the Marina Bay Sands story. Mott 32’s East Atlantis, for instance, is a cocktail made with mint-infused rum, genmaicha shimmer, citrus and soda that depicts Marina Bay Sands’ bold beginnings as the glittering icon of the Singapore skyline.
We can’t head to the sunny coasts of the Mediterranean Sea anytime soon, but we’ll make do with the next best alternative: db Bistro & Oyster Bar’s first-ever pop-up. The two-month, dinner-only pop-up is an ode to Chef Daniel Boulud’s love for the rich cultures embodied in Mediterranean cooking, curated by Chef Boulud and Executive Chef Jonathan Kinsella.
Every week, diners will see a refreshed menu at the pop-up, so no two weeks of feasting will be exactly the same. As for your dishes, expect plates like the smoky octopus à la plancha with Marcona almonds and the mouthwaring saffron tagliolini with clams, seppia and bottarga to whisk you off on culinary adventure through the Mediterranean.
What happens when you put two names big on adding modern twists to local heritage cuisine together? We don’t know about you, but it looks an awful lot like this collaboration between Rocketto Izakaya and Fat Fuku, that’s for sure.
The nine-course omakase menu will comprise dishes from Willin Low (Rocketto Izakaya) and Annette Tan (Fat Fuku), which will include a different take on Tan’s signature crispy mee siam, a truffle buah keluak short rib bo ssam, and Low’s giam her (salted fish) pasta. Other dishes like the Nonya pineapple tom kha fish and the crispy chicken skin with buah keluak mayo is a joint effort by both chefs.
The omakase dinners will run for a month on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with limited seating by reservations only.
Looking for a night unlike any other? Try your hand at feasting within a private dome with this new underwater dining experience set before S.E.A. Aquarium’s centerpiece attraction, the Open Ocean Habitat. The four-course dinner menu is specially designed by Chef de Cuisine Marvas Huang of Ocean Restaurant and Chef de Cuisine Tony Choo of Forest森, paying homage to the wonderful oceanic treasures that we have on Earth.
Apart from your other friends and family (up to five diners per table, you know the drill), guests will dine in the company of over 100 thousand marine dwellers such as Reef Manta Rays, Hammerhead Sharks and Giant Groupers, all submerged in the dreamy underwater terrain. At the end of the meal, guests can even bring a little bit of the magic home — a jar of housemade kelp sea salt and collectible postcards by local artist Wu Yanrong serve as keepsakes to remember the meal by.
The experience takes place every Friday to Tuesday evening, from 7pm to 9pm.
Germany’s Oktoberfest may have been cancelled in its hometown of Munich this year, but thankfully for us, this long-standing feasting tradition will still carry on right here on our sunny shores. Casual German diner, Brotzeit is bringing a new menu with modern updates on traditional Oktoberfest fare for the celebration.
Dishes like the Kalter Schweinsbraten, for instance, is a dish that’s inspired by the snacks that all German mothers would make from the Sunday roast leftovers. Don’t fret just yet, Brotzeit isn’t serving you any leftovers. Their version is freshly made from pork collar marinated overnight in Brotzeit’s own secret 12-spice mix, slow-roasted on a bed of root vegetables and Brotzeit’s lager, then chilled and sliced before serving.
Brotzeit’s Oktoberfest menu is available at all of its outlets from 11am to 10:30pm.
Hugo Boss is giving back to the community during these trying times with their initiative, #BOSSTOGETHERSG, a series of gastronomical collaborations with local F&B establishments. Each of their partnerships will feature a Boss Exclusive menu, and 10 percent of the proceeds from this menu will be donated to The Food Bank Singapore.
This month, they’re working with Chef Petrina Loh of Morsels for a nine and 12-course omakase menu that celebrates colours of the Boss FW 2020 Collection, complete with the use of ingredients that are meant to nourish and preserve. Customers will also receive a S$50 Boss voucher with every order of the joint menu.
This limited-time offering is available for lunch (nine-course) and dinner (12-course), from Tuesdays to Saturdays.
The Heritage Table is an initiative by Kin that celebrates cross-cultural collaborations with celebrated chefs created in line with their mission of preserving heritage. In this exclusive partnership, both chefs will take guests on a culinary journey that showcase flavours from Sri Lanka to Singapore for a night unlike any other.

The third edition of Ce La Vi’s Sky High Hawker is a celebration of heritage chefs and master hawkers that are pioneering a new wave of Singaporean cuisine.
