All too quickly, the weekend has come to an end and it’s the start of a new, hectic work week. To help us forget our Monday blues (and to recover from yesterday’s hangover), we’re already making plans for a decadent lunch someplace fancy. From pan-seared snapper to juicy lamb ribs and a vegetarian-friendly eggplant appetiser, here are three delectable dishes we might just treat ourselves to.

Red Snapper at il Cielo

The Dish: Simple but delicious, this dish features pan-seared snapper atop a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables such as carrots and snow peas. It is one of the main course options on il Cielo’s newly launched Supreme Italian Set Lunch menu, which is available on weekdays.

The Place: Situated on the rooftop of Hilton Singapore, il Cielo boasts a gorgeous view of the city skyline, along with a tantalising repertoire of Italian fare.

Price: S$25++ for a two-course menu and S$35++ for a three-course menu.

Parmigiana di Melanzane at Pete’s Place

Vegetarian food doesn’t have to be dull.

The Dish: This vegetarian-friendly, oven-baked appetiser comprises fried eggplant slices smothered in melted parmesan cheese and tangy tomato sauce, and features produce sourced from Taranto, a coastal city in Puglia, Italy. It is part of the new à la carte menu at Pete’s Place.

The Place: Pete’s Place is located in Grand Hyatt Singapore and specialises in hearty Italian cuisine the likes of pizzas and pastas. It recently brought in chef Cataldo Chiloiro from Taranto to helm its kitchen as Chef de Cuisine.

Grilled Lamb Ribs at Cé La Vi

Grilled Lamb Ribs Ce La Vi
Braised till tender and marinated in hoisin sauce and orange juice, these lamb ribs are succulent and tasty.

The Dish: A lot of preparation goes into these lamb ribs, which are braised till tender before being soaked overnight in a citrus-based marinade of hoisin sauce and orange juice. Finally, the meat is caramelised over a flame-grill. This dish is part of Cé La Vi’s refreshed menu.

The Place: Cé La Vi is a swanky space perched above Marina Bay Sands’ SkyPark Observation Deck, with floor to ceiling windows so patrons can take in unobstructed views of the CBD. Its speciality is Modern Asian cuisine.
