In Good Taste: Prego, Saint Pierre and FOC Sentosa

After the past weekend’s Halloween and Deepavali celebrations, it’s probably time to hit the gym… and stay away from booze for at least a few days. But if, like us, you’re still in the festive mood, here are three scrumptious dishes to chow down before getting back into your exercise regime.

Il Risotto con Piccione at Prego

Prego Milk Aquarello Risotto, Parmesan, Truffle Butter
This tastes as good as it looks.

The Dish: This hearty risotto dish comprises milk and Carnaroli rice grains from famed Italian rice producer Acquerello, and is loaded with delectable Parmesan cheese and roasted pigeon breast. It’s one of the highlights on Prego’s new seasonal truffle menu, which is available until next January.

The Place: With its warm lighting, wooden furniture, and meats hanging from awnings, this laid-back restaurant at Fairmont Singapore resembles an Italian trattoria. It focuses on traditional Italian cuisine and, on Sundays, offers a decadent brunch spread of seafood, grilled meats and a free flow of Berlucchi.

Eggplant at FOC Sentosa

Eggplant FOC Sentosa
One can’t go wrong with this combination of silky eggplant, cheese and sausage.

The Dish: Melt-in-the-mouth chunks of grilled eggplant are paired with salty bits of cured paprika Sobrassada sausage and Parmesan cheese, in a delicious explosion of smokey and savoury flavours. Honey is also drizzled over the dish for a hint of sweetness.

The Place: Located at Palawan Beach, this breezy waterfront restaurant is the sophomore outlet of Spanish eatery FOC along Hong Kong Street. It serves up Spanish-Mediterranean fare the likes of tapas, paellas and grilled meats, along with various cocktails and wines.

Langoustine at Saint Pierre

Here’s a dish that’s both delicious and insta-worthy.

The Dish: This delicately flavoured concoction features juicy langoustine coated with crunchy wild puffed rice, and served with winter melon, celeriac and chopped green apples. It is part of Saint Pierre‘s refreshed menu, which is designed by new Executive Chef Mathieu Escoffier.

The Place: This elegant fine dining restaurant at One Fullerton specialises in French cuisine with seasonal ingredients, and offers prix fixe menus and à la carte dishes.
