Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel platform has launched #LoveYourLocalSG, part of a global advocacy campaign to support domestic businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“With nearly 20,000 businesses in Singapore listed on Tripadvisor, we know that we need to be here for the industry,” said Jane Lim, Vice President, Business Operations and Strategy for Asia Pacific, Tripadvisor. “Most of them are having a tough time during this crisis and Tripadvisor is committed to doing everything we can by rallying our community and partners. Today’s announcement is just the first in a series of initiatives we are launching to support the industry.”
The support will take the form of a myriad of ways: A dedicated microsite that will feature takeaway and delivery promotions from partners like Burpple and Chope and a new takeout and delivery tool that will let F&B owners identify the businesses that offer these services.
The platform will also be supporting a host of initiatives by partners like the Company of Good by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre as well as Shopee with the “Eat for Good” and “Lend a Hand, If You Can” campaigns that look to support vulnerable groups.
To further spread awareness and goodwill, Tripadvisor has also partnered with influencers and media partners, including Lifestyle Asia.
“Lifestyle Asia Singapore is proud to support the initiative with our brand of content,” said editor Azimin Saini. “Highlighting local businesses, especially the ones in F&B is central to what we do. It’s more important now than ever that we put our money where our mouth is and continue pushing for our local heroes.”
