The folks who have brought the wildly successful Lavo and Marquee to Marina Bay Sands have released an opening date for Avenue Singapore. This swish lounge bar will officially open its doors come 23 May.
Unlike the carnivalesque revelry of Marquee or the ribald rooftop parties that Lavo offers, Avenue Singapore stands to be a sophisticated respite for those who want to pregame in comfort and style.
Hailing from New York and Los Angeles, as most of the TAO Group’s ventures do, Avenue Singapore is the first of its kind beyond America. It offers visitors cocktails and entertainment in the ambience of a chic New York penthouse, kitted with stately harlequin leather banquettes, mood lighting and metallic accents.
Though it may be a lounge, Avenue Singapore does not take itself too seriously. Peppered around the space are pockets of entertainment to make any adult feel like a child again, from a pool table, a mini bowling alley, and old school arcade machines. Atop it all, there will be DJs to provide the soundtrack of your evening, well into the night. Expect things to get rowdier if you choose to stay till late.
Avenue Singapore has also instilled a higher age limit, akin to most venues of its kind. Females must be beyond 21, and males, 23, to enter. There are also two entrances to the space — one from within Marquee so patrons can crossover easily, and one from Level 1 at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
