Orchard Road is arguably the bustling heart of Singapore, with anything you can possibly need found on the 2.2-kilometre boulevard. Shopping? Check out the many megamalls lined along the road. Dining options? You can find anything from local cuisine to Japanese omakase. Drinks? Bars are aplenty — so the only thing left to do is decide what you want to drink.
And if your preferred poison is a classic martini, one bar that stands out from the rest is the award-winning Martini Bar at Grand Hyatt Singapore. The establishment, known for having one of the finest and largest selections of martinis in the city, attracts far more than just hotel guests. The iconic bar recently underwent a revamp and has been given a sophisticated update with beautiful new shelving, contemporary furniture and marble flooring.
While Martini Bar already boasts signature brews such as the Ricks Cucumber Martini and the Passion Fruit Martini, its bartenders have come up with seven new creative renditions to surprise fervent martini lovers. Think Gummy Bear Martini, Apple Truffle Martini, Bloodyrita (a fusion of margarita and Bloody Mary), Blueberry Citrus, and other special new martinis of the month.
If you’re feeling peckish, Martini Bar has also curated a new food menu from mezza9 (the hotel’s flagship restaurant) to complement the new martinis. Expect to savour bar bites such as Thai-style chicken wings, delicious Padrón peppers, truffled Camembert de Normandie, and premium Wagyu bresaola.
Not a martini fan? The revamp also sees a new extension to the bar, the Party Room, which can also be used as a private event space. Unlike Martini Bar, the Party Room specialises in gin and tonics. Here, you can choose from over 60 premium gins from around the world — including Asia’s first craft gin Paper Lantern and the award-winning Martin Miller’s Westbourne Strength Gin.
For adventurous cocktail drinkers, the head bartenders can also whip up a bespoke cocktail as well as inventive variations like the perfect negroni gin.
Interior-wise, the bar features comfortable seating, a stylish ambience and hand-woven Peranakan fabric decor. Compared to the lively atmosphere in martini bar, the party room is more understated with mellow music and a warm vibe — perfect for unwinding with friends on a Friday night, with a glass of artisan gin in hand.
And while we’re at it, we’ll let you in on our little secret: Martini Bar and the Party Room offer one of the best happy hours in town — with all gin and tonics, martinis, wine, house pour spirits and mixed drinks selling at S$14++ per glass from 5pm to 9pm daily. You can thank us later.
