Singapore has been in a bit of a lull with new bars, though the stream of drink-related events has been non-stop. The Singapore Cocktail Festival just passed, along with the Asia’s 50 Best Bar Awards, and coming up are events like the Sake Festival, as well as Beerfest Asia to keep your liver busy through the month of June.
If these mammoth activities aren’t quite up your alley, then we’ve finally got a number of new bars in Singapore to check out this month too.
The TAO Group has opened their next venture in Marina Bay Sands in the form of Avenue, a lounge situated next to Marquee that’s a hotspot for pre-drinks before a night of revelry. The premises are comfortably lush, with entertainment at the fringes like a mini bowling alley, arcade games and a pool table to heighten the fun that will already take place when the cocktails keep flowing.
Clarke Quay’s iconic after-hours haunt is imported to the bayfront with the opening of Le Noir Marina Bay Sands. The new location looks far swankier than its central sibling, with dark colour palette accented with gold and marble to complement your glass of wine and the live music that will emanate from the main stage when bands come to play.
Dempsey Hill has a new jazz bar with the opening of Maduro Singapore. Surrounded by verdant greenery and parked far away from the chaotic buzz of typical Friday night destinations around, Maduro offers you an experience as pleasing to the senses as the smooth tunes that play within. Visitors can expect a wide array of Scotches, spirits and classic cocktails to keep the good vibes flowing.
Habitat by Honestbee is the last place one would expect a speakeasy-style bar to be, given that the site is primarily a dining and grocery-shopping destination, but B Bar proves to be the exception. The cocktail are theatrical, delicious and inventive, with most flaunting Asian twists on blueprints of classic cocktails. Read our full-review of B Bar here.
