Anyone who’s got love for the sweet spirit that drives the Caribbean should mark Rasa Fiesta Singapura on their to-do lists next month.
Held from 10 to 15 July, the rum festival will be held across various bars in Singapore. Organisers Destination Beverage have created a bar trail for consumers with a Rasa Fiesta Singapura passport and map.
The map is divided into different themed atmospheres, each focusing on a particular rum-producing region. Traverse through Panama, Jamaica, Martinique and the Caribbean islands with special cocktails crafted by a number of bars. These include the usual suspects like Vasco, Potato Head Folk, Lime House, Sugarhall, and even Bread Street Kitchen. A special cocktail ordered at a venue partner entitles you to one stamp.
The rum festival ends on 14 July, and if you’ve collected five stamps on the passport, you stand a chance to win prizes during the block party held at Jiak Chuan Street on 15 July. The top prize involves a one-night staycation at the Executive Room of Swissotel Merchant Court.
During the block party, the entire street will be overhauled into a Tiki paradise. Enjoy music, salsa performances, street food and more as you sip on cocktails pushed out by Lime House and Phat Cat Laundry. Those who aren’t keen on crowds can opt for private tastings at the second floor of Lime House. They’re even holding sales for some rarer rums, including those from Appleton Estate and Abeulo. The party begins at noon, and ends at 10.30pm.
