Go behind the scenes of foraging with The Botanist’s film showcase

Scotland is known for its whiskies, but it does have extremely innovative gins, of which The Botanist is the most renowned. Made from Hebridean botanicals, The Botanist champions foraging, as its gin is composed of 22 ingredients hand-foraged from Islay.

While the bottle is a familiar presence behind the bar, The Botanist wants us all to delve deeper into the spirit and what has inspired it, and so, it has released a documentary series titled Wild — A State of Mind.

Featuring five short films, Wild — A State of Mind highlights a global forager network, showcasing the likes of bartenders, chefs and other industry experts who use foraging as part of their practice on a day-to-day basis.

To celebrate the launch and to broaden said network, The Botanist will be hosting an interactive screening in Singapore on 30 November, in collaboration with Edible Garden City. Apart from just viewing the documentary, participants will spend the afternoon getting familiar with urban foraging.

Bjorn Low, the founder of Edible Garden City, will be presenting his take on urban foraging as well as sustainability in local agriculture. Following the talk, guests will be treated to a multi-sensory tour of Low’s closed-loop farm, before sampling a myriad of canapes and The Botanist cocktails made with foraged fare.

Tickets are priced at S$62 per person. The price includes free-flow The Botanist cocktails, and participation in all activities associated with the screening.
