When Porsche first introduced the Panamera at the 14th Shanghai Motor Show in 2009, views were divided. Some rejoiced that there was finally a luxury saloon car that bore the legendary badge, and the rest scoffed at what appeared to be a disproportionately stretched 911.
Ten years and two generations later, the Porsche Panamera still stands in the marque’s fleet as one of its most accomplished cars today, which brings us to what might be its best looking iteration of all time: The Porsche Panamera 10 Years Edition.
Available across the Panamera 4 series — the standard Panamera 4, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, Panamera 4 Sport Turismo, and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo — these special rides will see a number of fancy options as standard. This includes LED matrix headlights, 14-way comfort seats, adaptive air suspension, and an array of safety features that are otherwise pricey boxes to tick. Otherwise, no mechanical changes are made, so expect between 325hp from the base model to 455hp from the E-Hybrid Sport Turismo.
Special edition cars are far from a new concept, but they often involve slapping on a punchy historical colour and/or heritage decals that render the car a sticker book on wheels. Porsche keeps things classy instead with a colour combination that’s been proven to make (most) cars look smashing. Here, a metallic black paint accompanies the exclusive 21-inch white gold metallic wheels, and this colour way extends to its interiors, where black leather is met by decorative stitching in white gold. For extra measure, the “Panamera 10” logo on the front doors are also rendered in metallic white gold.
You can expect these Porsche Panamera 10 Years Editions to carry a premium over its “regular” namesakes, but it’s really quite a bang for your buck considering that you’ll also be rewarded with a panoramic roof, heated seats, and a Bose sound system amongst plenty of other creature comforts. It’s Porsche showing the world how they do luxury, after all, and it hasn’t lost its edge, even after a decade.
