Bang & Olufsen has introduced a new member to its B&O PLAY series of speakers. The B&O PLAY M5 is a standalone speaker with multi-room audio capability with a beautiful design dreamt up by award-winning Danish industrial designer Cecilie Manz. The speaker gives audiophiles a seamless way to connect to the music they love – and disperses the highly-acclaimed Bang & Olufsen Signature Sound evenly in all directions.
Inspired by the idea of using sound as part of a home’s interior decoration, the audio device is clad in a premium wool-blend fabric from Danish high-end manufacturer Kvadrat. B&O PLAY M5 features a sleek speaker top made from crafted aluminium – which has been pearl blasted and anodised to create a matt and luxurious feel.
“The design of B&O PLAY M5 is inspired by the way people use sound in their everyday lives – as a natural focal point for the family. The shape signals that sound is projected from all angles and visually, it can blend in or stand out in your home depending on personal preferences”, says designer Cecilie Manz.
B&O PLAY M5 also comes with Chromecast built-in – so that the entire family can stream millions of songs from more than 100 music services, including Spotify, Google Play Music and Pandora. You can easily connect the speaker to any other Chromecast-enabled speaker (including the B&O PLAY A6 and A9) to create a multi-room experience that lets music flow seamlessly through every room in your home.
Priced at S$899 at Bang & Olufsen Grand Hyatt and Takashimaya from 5th January 2017.
