The all-new Huawei Mate 40 series is informed by the design principle that form manifests function. The 88-degree curved Horizon Display, for instance, is aimed at creating an immersive viewing experience in a compact package. The handsets also offer IP 68 dust and water resistance, a choice of both virtual and physical volume controls and enhanced mistouch prevention algorithms.
The Huawei Mate 40 and the Mate 40 Pro smartphones are available in two different finishings: glass (in Black, White and Mystic Silver) as well as vegan leather (in Yellow and Green). The Huawei Mate 40 Pro+, on the other hand, features an exquisite nano-tech ceramic back panel available in two iconic colours: Ceramic White and Ceramic Black.
All about imaging
The Huawei Mate series saw a square, quad-camera in the Mate 20 and a halo design for the Mate 30. Following its design evolution, the Huawei Mate 40 has adopted the Space Ring Design for its rear camera, inspired by the first black hole captured by a telescope.
The Mate 40 Pro and the Mate 40 Pro+ will also see unparalleled cinematic videography. The Dual Cine Cameras feature a 3:2 cinema-style shooting ratio sensor, and Steady Shot will make capturing high-quality footage easier than ever. Other additions include Tracking Shot, a feature that enables users to zoom and focus on the subject without manual adjustment.
The front smart selfie camera isn’t neglected either: it’s equipped with ultra-wide capability that’ll fit everyone into the perfect group shot. Did we mention it supports 4K capture?
They’ve upgraded the Golden Snap feature from the P40 series too — the new Huawei Mate 40 comes with the option to remove shadows on document images.
Elevated performance and innovation
Besides an improved video- and picture-taking experience, the Mate 40 is taking it one step further with alterations that’ll elevate the user experience to unprecedented levels.
This includes dual stereo speakers with super bass stereo, AI recognition Smart Gesture Control — which allows total hands-free control of your device — as well as multi-screen collaboration on Huawei laptops for users to operate multiple devices at once.
As for its performance, users don’t have to fret. The Mate 40 will be Huawei’s first phone to include a chipset made using the Kirin 9000, a 5-nanometer process chip that’s said to be able to house billions more transistors than that of current handsets.
The 24-core Mali-G78 GPU in Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ is the most powerful GPU ever seen on a Huawei device, set to deliver advanced graphics performance and an incredible audiovisual experience for immersive gaming.
The Huawei Mate 40 Series is also equipped with the battery technology that is needed to keep up with the demands of 5G, supporting the fastest iteration of Huawei SuperCharge.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro will be available islandwide in Black and Mystic Silver, with pricing and availability to be revealed soon. For more information, visit Huawei’s official website here.
