Interior inspiration: 10 Instagram-worthy Moroccan apartments

Lately, we have been pining over Moroccan-inspired interiors, fuelling our wanderlust of roaming around the vibrant streets of Marrakesh. The style encapsulates interiors that are heavily influenced by Moorish architecture, a variation of Islamic architecture with beautifully intricate motifs. While the most classic examples of Moorish architecture can be found in the structures of mosques, some of these design styles have made their way into homes and hotels, giving rise to Moroccan-inspired interior design.

The interiors are minimalist, yet combined with vibrant colours, artistic mosaic tiles and lush greenery. These seamlessly complement carved wood, patterned window frames, high ceilings, arched doorways and mosaic tiles — all which are common elements in Moorish architecture. Patterns and vivid colours are mixed and matched, contributing to an eclectic Moroccan look, sometimes contrasted with gold and metal accents.

If you’re planning to redecorate your home soon, we’ve scoured Instagram for your design inspiration (and our own, admittedly.) From exquisite courtyards to sophisticatedly tiled poolsides, check out these spaces that are inspired by Moroccan design.
