Marie Antoinette’s lavish State Apartments at Versailles opened to the public this week after more than three years of painstaking refurbishment. The former queen of France is often credited for refining the Rococo style. Also dubbed "Late Baroque," it's a highly ornamental style of decoration of the 18th century characterised by fanciful curved symmetry and strict regulations of the Baroque, especially of the Palace of Versailles.
