In collaboration with some of the world’s most renowned designers, Louis Vuitton has launched its first Les Petits Nomades collection at the Fuori Salone in Milan. Described as “innovative and inventive, poetic and elegant”, the range features decorative objects for the home.
The unique collection is a result of Louis Vuitton’s traditional savoir-faire and innovative craftsmanship combined with the creative vision of prolific designers such as Humberto & Fernando Campana, Atelier Oï, Patricia Urquiola and Marcel Wanders.

The various items in the collection include a tropicalist vase by the Campana Brothers, who previously designed for the brand’s travel-inspired Objets Nomades home range. Said to be inspired by South American Quesnalia and Bromeliad flowers, the vase is carefully crafted of 176 two-tone, leather-covered metal “petals” — a testament to the versatility of Louis Vuitton and its use of materials.
“In this collection, we wanted to celebrate the preciousness of nature and send a signal of respect for one of the most important parts of the planet,” said the Campana Brothers in a release.

Similarly, Swiss design studio Atelier Oï has also taken the ingenious direction of exploring leather properties and applying it to Louis Vuitton’s iconic savoir-faire. The result? Delicate origami flowers in 15 different colours, and individually crafted leather blooms, a leather rosacea vase and tray (inspired by the pattern of the House’s Monogram), and a flower field cushion featuring a folded leather pattern — a nod to the hammock that Atelier Oï created for the Objets Nomades collection.
Besides the Les Petites Nomades collection, Louis Vuitton also unveiled new Objets Nomades designs. This year, the House has collaborated with creatives the likes of Hong Kong-based André Fu and Marcel Wanders, the award-winning Dutch designer who dreamt up the collection’s famous Lounge Chair in 2015.
The Louis Vuitton Les Petits Nomades collection will be available from October 2018 at the Louis Vuitton Marina Bay Sands Island Maison, while the Louis Vuitton Objet Nomades collection is available upon store inquiry.
