This week’s best stories: The Macallan Edition No. 4, Iceland’s new Blue Lagoon resort and more

It’s been a whirlwind week, to say the least. Last Sunday night concluded the World Cup, with France beating underdog Croatia 4-2. The world barely had time to recuperate from the football festivities, when political news blew up, with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin’s curious summit in Helsinki. It was also reported that Kim Jong Un felt jilted at this newfound union.

Without missing a beat, news channels were awash two days ago with videos of Thailand’s Wild Boar soccer team — victims of the Tham Luang cave saga that gripped the world — finally surfaced from the hospital, all smiles and fully recuperated.

Over in Singapore, the local Michelin Guide released its anticipated Bib Gourmand 2018 list, with 50 eateries ranking on the affordable dining compendium, 15 of which are new hawkers (more on that here).  It can’t compare to the international currents, but hey, food accolades are a mammoth deal in our quiet city, okay?

To give you some brevity from the tidal wave of reportage, we have curated a list of some of the best stories on Lifestyle Asia this week, from holidays to new whiskies and everything in between.
