Valentine’s Day is an occasion where roses are everywhere in sight. The flower becomes an emblem of love, visible in decorations and in the arms of loving couples walking around town on the day. While the gesture of being given real flowers is romantic in theory, the impending reality of wilted roses to come makes the gift less of a lasting declaration of love. If you’re hunting down a thoughtful gift that spells “I love you” over a longer timeframe, then the Diptyque Valentine’s Day collection is your answer.
The rose remains at the heart of the collection, albeit made into two different candles: Centifolia and Damask. Each candle obviously embodies the essence of the rose it is named after — freshness and delicacy for Centefolia and musky sensualness for Damask. The candles come housed in holders that feature illustrations of the roses, a more decorative change from the usual minimalistic Diptyque packaging.
In the spirit of the new line, Diptyque will open a Valentine’s Collection pop-up store at Tangs Orchard until 4 February, where guests can visit to purchase the two candles, as well as the bath and body products from its existing Eau Rose collection, redesigned in new packaging for the occasion. Ditch the bouquet come 14 February, and opt for these scented candles as gifts instead. The romance will linger on, trust us.
The Diptyque Valentine’s Collection pop-up is located at Tangs, 310 Orchard Road, Singapore 238864.
