One of Singapore’s most well-known boutique hotel pioneers, Wanderlust, has received a facelift. Formerly owned by Unlisted Collection, Wanderlust has since been acquired by the 8M Collective, the folks behind Ann Siang House and Kēsa House. The venue now has a brand new concept and look, branding itself as Singapore’s latest flexible living space, right in the historic heart of Little India.
Housed in a conservation building from the 1920s, the property presents a perfect blend of modern-day comfort and old-world charm. It features original Peranakan tiles and contemporary textures of warm and cool shades, highlighting the vibrancy of the neighbourhood it is located in.
Wanderlust is designed for comfort and efficiency, catering to both short and long-term guests that range from travellers to those in transition between homes. The rooms span multiple configurations: the loft, the junior loft, the studio, the junior studio and the room. The loft houses a two-storey set-up with areas for work and rest, while the room is a straightforward boutique hotel room, with just enough space for travellers on-the-move. The flexible living concept comes into play when room rates reduce the longer you stay, making it a viable option for those seeking alternatives to co-living or serviced apartments in central Singapore.
The property also features common areas for both business and play, with its relaxing lobby lounge and serene terrace with dipping pool that overlooks the charming Dickson Road and the bustling streets of Little India. Guests can also look forward to in-house dining by a celebrated local chef when Wanderlust opens.
“We’re excited to expand upon the available options of quality and tasteful lifestyle destinations,” said Sara Villarreal, COO of 8M Real Estate. “Introducing the new Wanderlust is a step towards bringing a fresh perspective to the neighbourhood with our tailor-made flexible living product that caters to both locals and visitors alike.”
Wanderlust is to open in February 2020.
